Tesla Model Y and Model 3 Prices and Subsidies in Korea, October 2026: Subsidy by Trim and Seoul Net Price
After two price hikes, here are October 2026 prices for every Tesla Model Y and Model 3 trim in Korea, national subsidies by trim (₩1.68 million to ₩4.2 million), Seoul net prices, the ₩53 million subsidy threshold and why the same trim can get half the subsidy, with sources.
"How much is a Model Y now? What do I actually pay after subsidies?" Tesla's Korean prices rose twice in 2026, and subsidies differ by trim. I checked press reports and the outlets that compile subsidy data (Kukinews, EV DBs, Daisso EV, Getcha, Youcar Post) and collected the October 2026 price list, national subsidy by trim and Seoul net prices in one place.
Prices and subsidies change often. Before signing, confirm final amounts on Tesla's official order page and the national EV portal (ev.or.kr).
Tesla prices rose twice this year
Combining EV DBs (Oct 6, 2026) and Kukinews (July 1, 2026), this year's price changes are:
- April, first hike: Model Y Long Range AWD rose ₩4 million from ₩59.99 million to ₩63.99 million, Model Y L rose ₩5 million from ₩64.99 million to ₩69.99 million, and Model 3 Performance rose ₩5 million from ₩59.99 million to ₩64.99 million (Kukinews). EV DBs gives April 10 as the date of the first hike.
- July 1, second hike: all Model 3 trims and the Model Y Long Range and L rose ₩3 million to ₩7 million (Kukinews).
- Frozen trim: Model Y Premium RWD stayed at ₩49.99 million through both rounds.
Kukinews summed it up: Model 3 Performance rose ₩10 million in three months and Model Y L rose ₩8 million. Tesla Korea gave no specific reason for the increases.
Model Y prices and subsidies (October 2026)
| Trim | Price | National subsidy | Seoul subsidy | Seoul net price (vehicle price basis) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium RWD | ₩49.99 million | ₩1.7 million | ₩510,000 | about ₩47.78 million |
| Premium Long Range AWD | ₩66.99 million | ₩2.1 million | ₩630,000 | about ₩64.26 million |
| Model Y L AWD (6-seater) | ₩72.99 million | ₩2.15 million | ₩640,000 | about ₩70.20 million |
Prices, subsidies and net prices follow EV DBs' Oct 6 article. The national subsidies also match Daisso EV (data as of Sept 28), which compiles the national EV portal's subsidy table. Net price is the vehicle price minus only the national and Seoul subsidies, so options, acquisition tax and delivery fees are excluded.
Why pricier trims get bigger subsidies
In the table, the most expensive Model Y L (₩2.15 million) gets a larger national subsidy than the cheapest Premium RWD (₩1.7 million). EV DBs explains that subsidies reflect range, energy efficiency and battery evaluation rather than price. In Daisso EV's data, the three Tesla rows with the smallest national subsidies (₩1.68 million and ₩1.7 million) are all trims listed with a 62.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.
Model 3 prices and subsidies (October 2026)
| Trim | Price | National subsidy | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| RWD (Standard) | ₩46.99 million | ₩1.68 million | Seoul subsidy ₩503,999, Seoul net price about ₩44.81 million (Getcha) |
| Premium Long Range RWD | ₩59.99 million | ₩2.1 million or ₩4.2 million | Two separate rows in the subsidy table (see below) |
| Performance AWD | ₩69.99 million | ₩2 million | Seoul net price must be calculated yourself |
Kukinews (July 1) and EV DBs (Oct 6) give the same prices, and national subsidies follow Daisso EV (data as of Sept 28). The Model 3 RWD Seoul figures come from Getcha (edited Oct 12): ₩1.68 million national plus ₩503,999 Seoul gives a total subsidy of ₩2,183,999.
Same trim, half the subsidy: the ₩53 million line
The Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD has two rows in the subsidy table. One shows ₩4.2 million national subsidy; the other, with "(5999만원)" appended to the name, shows exactly half, ₩2.1 million (Daisso EV).
Daisso EV notes that the statutory guidance and subsidy rules give the full subsidy for a base price under ₩53 million and 50% for ₩53 million to ₩85 million, and says the two rows fit that rule. This trim rose from ₩52.99 million to ₩59.99 million on July 1 (Kukinews), so its current price falls in the 50% band. But Daisso EV also said it could not confirm from the table alone which cars belong to which row, so if you buy this trim, ask the seller and your local government before signing which row you apply under.
By the same standard, Model Y Premium RWD (₩49.99 million) and Model 3 RWD (₩46.99 million) are in the full-subsidy band and the other trims in the 50% band (EV DBs also summarizes that only the Model Y RWD is in the full band).
Entry trims compared: Model 3 RWD vs Model Y Premium RWD
| Item | Model 3 RWD | Model Y Premium RWD |
|---|---|---|
| Price | ₩46.99 million | ₩49.99 million |
| National subsidy | ₩1.68 million | ₩1.7 million |
| Seoul subsidy | ₩503,999 | ₩510,000 |
| Seoul net price (vehicle price basis) | about ₩44.81 million | about ₩47.78 million |
| Price change this year | up ₩5 million in July (from ₩41.99 million) | frozen |
The price gap is ₩3 million, and with nearly equal subsidies the Seoul net price gap is about ₩2.97 million. The biggest change this year is that Model Y Premium RWD dodged the hikes, which sharply narrowed the gap between the two cars.
Tesla's own aid for exhausted-subsidy regions ended September 30
In August, Tesla Korea launched the "Tesla Support Program," giving residents of regions where local subsidies were exhausted with no supplementary budget planned an amount similar to the national subsidy. Support was ₩1.68 million for Model 3 RWD, ₩2 million for Model 3 Performance, ₩1.7 million for Model Y Premium RWD, ₩2.1 million for Model Y Premium Long Range AWD and ₩2.15 million for Model Y L, for customers taking delivery by September 30, 2026 (Youcar Post, Aug 6). Youcar Post pointed out that trims hit by the July increase still cost ₩850,000 to ₩3.32 million more than before the hike even with the support, and that the Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD was not eligible.
As of October, the announced delivery deadline has passed. Check Tesla's official channels for any similar promotion.
Easy-to-miss items before calculating your net price
- Don't use Seoul's subsidy for your own region. Local subsidies differ by region, and some close early when budgets run out (EV DBs). Daisso EV's data also showed local governments with ₩0 local funding for the same trim.
- Check the conversion support. According to EV DBs, scrapping or selling a combustion car you've owned for three or more years and switching to an EV can bring up to ₩1 million more, but you must buy within six months of scrapping or selling, under the same name. Daisso EV listed the national portion of the conversion support for Tesla's 11 subsidy rows at ₩340,000 to ₩840,000 (about one-fifth of the national subsidy).
- The threshold may change next year. EV DBs reported that in 2027 the threshold for the full subsidy will fall to under ₩50 million. Confirm when next year's subsidy guidelines are announced.
- Range in the subsidy table may be an old certification. According to Daisso EV, Model 3 RWD is listed at 399 km at room temperature in the table, but its July 31, 2026 certified figure is 452 km. Ask the seller which certification applies to the car you buy.
For the record, I drive a 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+) and am not a new-car buyer, but compiling this reconfirmed that even for the same Model 3, price and subsidy terms differ completely by model year and trim.
FAQ
How much is the cheapest Model Y in October 2026?
Model Y Premium RWD at ₩49.99 million. After the ₩1.7 million national subsidy and ₩510,000 Seoul subsidy, the vehicle price in Seoul is about ₩47.78 million (EV DBs, Oct 6). Acquisition tax and options are extra.
How much is the Model 3 RWD subsidy?
The national subsidy is ₩1.68 million. Adding Seoul's ₩503,999 gives ₩2,183,999, and subtracting it from ₩46.99 million gives about ₩44.81 million in Seoul (Getcha).
Why does the Model Y L get a bigger subsidy than the RWD?
National subsidies reflect range, energy efficiency and battery evaluation rather than price order (EV DBs). But trims at ₩53 million or more receive only 50% of the calculated amount.
I heard the Model 3 Long Range subsidy is ₩4.2 million. Is that right?
The subsidy table has a ₩4.2 million row and a ₩2.1 million row with "(5999만원)" appended (Daisso EV). The current ₩59.99 million price is in the 50% band, which matches the structure, but confirm which row applies with the seller and your local government.
Can I still get Tesla's own subsidy support?
The "Tesla Support Program" announced in August covered customers taking delivery by September 30, 2026 (Youcar Post). Check Tesla's official channels for any new promotion after October.
Will prices rise again?
Tesla Korea has not given reasons for the increases or future plans (Kukinews). EV DBs advises not scheduling final payment without confirmed subsidy eligibility, and acting after eligibility is confirmed.
This article compiles public reports and subsidy data as of October 14, 2026. Prices and subsidies can change without notice, so confirm final amounts on Tesla's official page and the national EV portal before signing.
